David is the young man Father Vito Cornelius has chosen to be his successor.
Biography
David is an 18 year old man who is studying under Father Cornelius to assume responsibility for the safekeeping of the Key to the altar inside the secret temple of the Light of Creation in a desert in Egypt, as well as the curation of the knowledge of the Elemental Stones, the Fifth Element, and the return of the ultimate Evil.
He is a shy and unassuming young man, serving his mentor and sharing an apartment with him in New York City. The apartment serves not only as living quarters but as the sanctuary for their religion, too. David is taller than Vito, with dark eyes, pallid skin, and black hair cut in an unflattering style.
Trivia
- The black ziggurat hat David wears when he's out in public resembles the 'flowerpots' worn by the new wave band Devo during stage performances.
- In the original script and novelization, David was not the one to discover how to open the elemental stones, instead it was Ruby Rhod who opened the wind stone. He was also waiting at the desert temple at the end for the rest to arrive and opened the secret trapdoor leading inside.
